In the second chapter of our Kazakhstan adventure, we travel deeper into Mangystau – camping in the remote desert, navigating rugged terrain, and exploring landscapes that feel truly surreal. This region is wild, dramatic, and unlike anywhere else.

We start at the Tiramisu Hills for a peaceful sunrise over ancient layers shaped by the Tethys Sea. From there, we hike through a maze of eroded mounds and ridges, with drone views revealing incredible patterns and colours across the desert.

Our journey continues across endless tracks to new wild camps, dramatic cliff-top viewpoints, and eventually one of Mangystau’s most iconic landmarks – the Bozzhyra Fangs, two towering limestone spires rising sharply from the desert floor.

Golden sunsets, silent sunrises, and nights under the stars make this one of the most unforgettable parts of the trip. Chapter three is coming soon — and the adventure only gets better from here.
