About Me

I'm Ollie, a UK-based travel landscape photographer drawn to places with atmosphere, scale and character, from remote landscapes to the quieter details that make somewhere feel memorable.

Why I travel

Photography shapes the way I travel.

For me, photography changes the way I travel. It gives each trip a sense of purpose, but it also makes me slow down and notice a place more carefully. I might plan around light, seasons and access, but the best moments often come from being open to what happens once I'm there: shifting weather, unexpected textures, quiet viewpoints, or a scene that suddenly feels alive.

What I'm really trying to capture is the feeling of a location: the scale, colour, atmosphere, beauty and small details that make somewhere stay with you after you've left.

My approach

Preparation, instinct and atmosphere.

I plan enough to give myself the best chance of being somewhere interesting when the light, weather and landscape come together. But once I'm there, the process is more instinctive: responding to the conditions, looking for quieter details, and trying to capture what the place actually feels like.

Preparation as a foundation

I research landscapes, access, seasons and light enough to give a trip structure, then leave space for the place to surprise me.

Responding to the place

I'm especially drawn to locations with strong character: remote regions, mountains, deserts, islands, coastlines, volcanic scenery and quieter corners where the atmosphere leads the photograph.

Believable editing

The final image should still feel grounded in the real place: the colour, light and atmosphere I remember, not something polished into being artificial.

The trips behind the photographs.

My travel films show the atmosphere and unpredictability behind the photos: arriving in a place, following the light, reacting to weather and noticing the moments that do not fit neatly into a plan.

Why I do it

Making images that feel like the place.

Photography is a serious hobby for me, and one that sits alongside a full-time career. I'm not travelling endlessly or creating content full-time; I choose trips carefully because I want the time I do have to feel purposeful.

The reward is coming away with images and stories that carry some of the magic of a place: its beauty, atmosphere, scale, light and the small details that made it feel worth remembering.
